Kitties!

September 14, 2011 Leave a comment

Last weekend I had visited somewhere pretty special. I was bored and I decided to search online about something interesting places to visit. I had something in mind that time, it was the cafe where they have cats roaming around.

I knew something like that existed here in Korea, but to my surprise, they have one of those kitty cafes in my area of Bucheon! Without hesitation I went to visit that place with my trusty old camera, and took a bunch of photos of the playful kitties over there. Here are some of the best which I like!  Enjoy!

Pearly white kitty!

What did I do?

Bossy kitty who hates interaction with people

Interested on something

Can I go out?

Angel above!

Emo kitty... awww...

Don't disturb my nap time!

Photogenic kitty!

If kitties could fish

Puma kitty!

Still cute as ever!

I want some more treats!

When you don’t know where to go

Aimless and chained

Have you ever felt like you are wondering around, without knowing the real purpose of existing and what you really wanted the most?

This reminds me the life of being a pet. The sole existance of the pet dog for instance, is to follow its master everywhere they go, and listen to their commands. What if when the master suddenly stops giving orders, chained it, and leave the dog somewhere by itself? How would the dog feel? Who would you feel when you are in that situation?

Suddenly you lose aim of what you are trying so hard to achieve for, the feeling of anxiety, fear; looking for something or someone that we can count on, but couldn’t find them anywhere.

All the dog can do is, whine and howl, wishing its master will return.

What will you do?

Dreams and reality.

Bird plant

Ready to fly, but rooted forever

Life is so contradicting, funny at times too. Like this particular plant that mimics the looks of a bird.

When we yearn for something we really wanted, we wouldn’t get it. Sometimes, we do not wish for  anything, there would be too many choices out there. Life is always about choices you make, deciding your future. Our fate is in our own hands.

We always wanted to soar for greater heights, reaching the pinnacle of our lives with astounding achievements that we had ever dreamt of. In reality, we are just rooted to the ground, forced to strive all day round, working hard just for a decent living. All these could be very different: either success or failure. If we could make the right choices, believe in the choice we made and work hard for it, with a dash of luck, we might just be able to accomplish anything.

Even in reality, it seems that we are forever stuck on the ground; but maybe dreaming of soaring to the sky could be just possible, if we really believe in it.  Who knows one day this bird flower will spread its wing and fly away?

All we can do is pray really hard, and try our best, so that everything goes smoothly…

They say this plant has a meaning: the birds bring luck and wealth to the owner. Hope this tiny little bird brings luck to anyone of us.

Sleep All Day

Boat of slumber

Boat of slumber

Sometimes, the only thing I wanna do is to sleep all day, even though I have loads of things to do. Shouldn’t we relax on a beautiful Sunday morning?

I doubt so.

Exams are coming next week, that’s why my posting had slowed down. Perhaps further posting will be slow too, because all the projects will be coming right after my mid-semester exams. And also not forgetting job hunting too.

Wish to sleep all day though…

Flying colors

Flying colors

Just how colorful can one bird be? I wonder how this bright bird can hide from it’s prey, or maybe, it has no prey at all.

I just like how the bright colors were shown in the feathers. And the bird seems like posing to me for this shot. What a valuable shot indeed!

It’s not easy to find 3 main colors: red, green and blue, at the same time, represented by the nature spontaneously.

Pomegranate flowers

Ants, working hard, rain or shine

Ants, working hard, rain or shine

Budding and blooming pomegranate flowers with a couple of working ants, trying to get the something sweet out of the red-orange flowers.

This photo wasn’t at it’s highest quality, and the ants couldn’t be emphasized more since it was limited by the lens used. It might be confusing whether the focus is on the flower or the ants. Without a true macro lens, the best result I could get is this, and I am more happy to show it out. This shot was made possible with my telephoto Tamron 70-300mm lens, which has a macro mode at 180-300mm end of the lens. This is a budget telephoto lens with great performance for casual shooting. It might not offer large magnification or close focus distance, but it still works pretty well for someone one a tight budget.

You could feel more warmth from this photo as the white balance is slightly off to the warm side. I like that feeling on this photo, so I decided to leave it that way even though some might say it’s way off.

Well, it’s kinda weird why insects as small as ants working so hard, even under the hot sun, just to get food. I don’t think they will get a lot out of this two flowers, but still, it’s worth the effort. Maybe we should learn from them- to do our smallest job well, even if that job might not bring something big later. Any effort would be worth-while later.

Yoggie, in for a potrait

Yoggie, in for a portrait

I guess I’m being abit homesick? This is my dog, Yoggie, living in my home in Malaysia. He is a mutt, a Corgi mutt to be precise. He isn’t as active as a corgi should, and isn’t as smart either (in the sense of training, but he is very cunning sometimes!) His favorites includes kuih bahulu(some traditional cake), durian(king of fruit), guava, and virtually everything you held in you hand and munching in your mouth. He is friendly most of the time, and pretty lazy throughout the day. I kinda miss him, and hope to be able to see him soon~!
