Seoul Motor Show 2011 – The babes

April 7, 2011 Leave a comment

The 2011 Seoul Motor Show opened last Friday and it is still on until the end of this week. I decided to visit the show last week, and man I can tell you, there were more people than ever.

I didn’t have much time in the show myself, and having only budget lenses compare to those who brought their white long lenses and shooting on stools, my photos seemed so unprofessional.

Anyways, out of more than 600 photos, these are those which I really like, and would like to share over here. Take a look and comment please!

Runaway

Runaway cart

Runaway from reality

Have you ever wanted to run away from everything?

I do.

Runaway. Just keep on running, and never look back.

No regrets.

Something simple…

Early in the days

Early in the days, simplicity...

Living in a country where everything is fast pace, stopping once in a while is a good thing.

Stop, stand and look around… Sometimes everything is so blurry, like a photo taken in a slow shutter speed with blurry silhouette of people walking around in a busy city street.

In a society where everyone is trying to gain the most whenever they can, suddenly I thought, maybe simplicity could be the answer.

What are we really chasing for? Why complicate life with so much trouble, with so much stress?

Just live simple, and be content, isn’t that suffice to sustain a normal life?

This is what I am telling myself now. But looking ahead, this simple plan won’t work. There are more to come, and we should get prepared for the worst when things turn the other way.

Just hope the body can catch up with everything we throw at it.

Simplicity, is the only thing I yearn for the most.

Drowning, deeply…

Drunken Bear

"I wanna forget everything about her..."

Let’s get drunk and forget about everything.

Love is a funny thing.

Suddenly, you are deeply in love with someone that’s not significant at all, someone in plain sight that you meet and greet everyday.

She could be nobody until someday, when you started to realize that  you are deeply attracted to her. There are no particular reasons, but your love for her grows by the minute with every look on her.

Sometimes when you glance at her, chances are, she’s looking at you at the same time. When both of you crossed sights, hearts started to race for that particular few seconds, as if time have just frozen up for that very moment… That amazing few seconds of time, is all you need to make your whole day feel energetic again. Sometimes you wonder whether she thinks the same as what you think when you both are looking at each other…

If you could, you would want to tell her how amazing she looks like everyday; how bright her eyes are, how lovely she is when she pull her hair back, how much you want to kiss her gorgeous lips…

You try to be honest with her, telling her the truth that you liked her, and told her that you want to spend more time together. But without any good reasons, she rejects your offer. That’s the part where everything starts crumbling down. That’s how cruel she could be; not even giving you the chance to take the very first step…

What would you do next? Would you keep your hopes high and continue to tell her how much you love her, tell her how amazing she is to you? Or would you just give up all hope, sitting at the corner quietly glancing at her from time to  time, feeling the world is coming down on you?

For me, I would want to get drunk for a moment, and not think about her anymore. But the torturing truth is, you are going to see her again the next day. You cannot run away from the fact you still love her so ever deeply, and the fact that she will never look at you the same after knowing that you like her.

That’s how funny love is to me.

Wedding Matters, Part I

April 4, 2010 Leave a comment

Looking back at the posts that I had made for the past few weeks, everything seems a bit too personal, with only meaningless monologue and thoughts of mine.

Now I shall share with all of you some of the photos I shot during my brother’s wedding which was held 3 months ago. Too bad that I couldn’t get the permission to put up potraits of people that I shot during the wedding. The most I can share, is the stuff that you can generally see in a Malaysian-Chinese wedding.

I hope you enjoy.

Wedding Lamps

"Heart to heart" decorative lamps

Bedsheets

New bedsheets for the new couple

Kissing pigs

Just having a sweet kiss

Praying Altar

On the Altar

Altar offerings

Offerings to the Heaven, morning prayers

Joss sticks

Joss stick offerings

As you can see, those shown in the photos are just some decorative objects used in the room of the groom and the bride, and also the things offered on the altar for the morning prayer on the day of the wedding ceremony.

More photos will come next time. Stay tune.

Green stuff

Greens in the ray of light

This photo is kind of random. Nothing particular I wanna talk about regarding this photo. I just want to express my current fillings now.

I’m not a person with strong self-esteem, nor a person with strong opinions. I am always easily swayed by anything I have heard, or seen. This is pretty much my biggest weakness that I have.

I always believe that everything in life is fate. As long as u have faith in it, and just go along the flow, anything that belongs to you, will eventually become yours. I always tell myself, not to compare and compete with others excessively, and always be content with what I have, and be proud of what I had achieved, even though it isn’t any huge achievement at all.

It isn’t easy at all, as I always hear about how other people achieving better than what I had achieved. Being envious is just a small part of it, but thinking why I myself being in a “less satisfying” state is more excruciating than it seems. It’s hard to avoid negative thoughts, about myself, and about other people around me.

Everything happens for a reason. Fate more or less had already paved a path for us. Sometimes, we ask for more than what we want, especially seeing others getting something better. When something doesn’t belong to us, it will never come to us. That’s the other side of FATE, and I’m convincing myself to believe in that.

Sometimes, we need to think about other people who are less fortunate, or be in someone else’s shoes in order to know what they are suffering from. Self-appreciation could be a good thing too.

Always be content with what we have. Someday, a ray of light will shine upon us, lighting up a path in front of us,  leading all of us to our own destinies.

Dreams and reality.

Bird plant

Ready to fly, but rooted forever

Life is so contradicting, funny at times too. Like this particular plant that mimics the looks of a bird.

When we yearn for something we really wanted, we wouldn’t get it. Sometimes, we do not wish for  anything, there would be too many choices out there. Life is always about choices you make, deciding your future. Our fate is in our own hands.

We always wanted to soar for greater heights, reaching the pinnacle of our lives with astounding achievements that we had ever dreamt of. In reality, we are just rooted to the ground, forced to strive all day round, working hard just for a decent living. All these could be very different: either success or failure. If we could make the right choices, believe in the choice we made and work hard for it, with a dash of luck, we might just be able to accomplish anything.

Even in reality, it seems that we are forever stuck on the ground; but maybe dreaming of soaring to the sky could be just possible, if we really believe in it.  Who knows one day this bird flower will spread its wing and fly away?

All we can do is pray really hard, and try our best, so that everything goes smoothly…

They say this plant has a meaning: the birds bring luck and wealth to the owner. Hope this tiny little bird brings luck to anyone of us.

Goodbye student life…

Hanyang University

Goodbye Hanyang

After a two-year stint of studies in Hanyang University, I finally finished my course and obtained my degree in Mechanical Engineering. Erm… Not quite, not until I “officially” graduate on late February next year.

Does 2 years of hardship pay off? I don’t exactly know about the answer for this question. After my final exams, I thought I could have some time to myself, to relax a bit before taking the next journey of my life – WORK.

But it went the other way round, as I am really busy, preparing for interviews and writing résumé, trying to find a job over here in Seoul. Many things came into my thoughts, as I make my choice of either working over here or going back to Malaysia. No one knows about the outcome, maybe only God knows.

One phrase I would like to quote from Doc Brown of Back to the Future,

“We all have to make decisions that affect the course of our lives. You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. And I’ve gotta do what I’ve gotta do.”

Will my next decision change the course of my life?

Christmas is here again, as the new year is also around the corner. Another year will soon pass…

This 2 years of hardship, hope it brings something fruitful back, soon.

PENTAX K-x in limited RED

Review for Pentax K-x is out, by Photography blog!

And without surprise, the K-x scored the highest rating of “Essential”, with flying “colors”!

Give it a read by clicking here.

I really can’t wait to get my hands on one of them. Especially the red one! But, don’t really know when they will be launching this in S. Korea or in Malaysia. And I don’t think I have the money to “downgrade” from my K10d to this little fella for the time being.

*Sigh*

By the way, I really hope to hear about your thoughts on the K-x. Please do leave a comment below!

Life is like a mahjong game??

Mahjong playing

Choose it wisely

We always hear about people comparing life to a game of poker, like one of the song from Fort Minor called “slip out the back“.

Well, maybe life could be described as a game of mahjong too. You have to choose your tiles wisely, plan each move, and show no emotions. It’s all about knowing when to give up what you don’t need and gamble with luck. It is also important to know when to stop playing and give it a rest.

I myself don’t really know how to play mahjong though. But I’m sure it’s as fun as poker too. Try it if you have the chance.
